Our work would not be possible without a strong hunger relief system from food donor to recipient. Each year, thanks to the support of Feeding America™ – a national network of food banks, local food donors and our network of 200 regional member agencies we rescue and distribute over 4.7 million pounds of food to those who are hungry in our NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin service region.
Feeding America™ (formerly America’s Second Harvest)
Unfortunately, our food bank does not operate in a dense agricultural region or have access locally to major manufacturers, so our rescue of national food depends on our affiliation with Feeding America™ – the Nation’s Food Bank Network. Each year, about 45% of our donated food comes from national manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and growers.

Local Food Donors
We are fortunate to have committed and caring local food donors who support our work through the donation of their perishable and non-perishable food. Current donors »
Local Member Agencies
We are able to distribute much of our food bank product through our 120 affiliated member agencies or “partners” in our fight against hunger. Each month an average 9,750 people receive food or meals from one of our region’s hunger relief programs.
Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank provides food to area food shelves, soup kitchens, shelters, after school youth programs, senior nutrition programs, homes for the mentally and physically disabled, and other qualifying non-profit programs. Our partners »
